Here I will try to re-state the problem.
I have two USB Flash Memory sticks. One is a 2GB stick and the other is
a 8GB stick. I can install Freebsd 8.0 from disc1 cd onto the 2GB stick
or dd the memstick.img to the 2GB stick and in both cases it will boot
just fine.

I recently switched from FreeBSD 5.2.1 to 4.10 in the hope that it would
solve my seemingly unsolvable Nvidia driver freeze issue. Alas, it did not.
However, now that I am running FreeBSD 4.10 (and intend to stay with it) I
am having an error when I insert my Prolific TDX MemoDisk
Are such devices as for instance, IBM MagicKey, PQI Intelligent Stick,
USBdrive, ThumbDrive and other USB Flash Memory Drives, supported by FreeBSD.
I know most of them are supported by Linux, so one doesn't have to install
any drivers before use.
