There's no regression in the editor code itself. It has never worked with
isometric topology, that is now made the default.

No,it's different. You are wrong.
Regardless of a map topology, Copy/Paste tool in edit mode works correctly in
ver2.3.4!
This bug is newly occured in ver 2.4 onwards.
