Hi there,
There also is a utility called radiusreport that I used to use before I
implemented the mysql hookin.
It parses the radius detail files and has a few reporting options.

You were right, the MySQL libs are under /usr/lib (Isn't it the standard for
libs ?) so I had "--with-mysql-lib-dir=/usr/lib/" and also "libdir=/usr/lib"
in radiusd.conf , It works well now.

Hello All,
Is there any utilty to report total usage so far (in the current
month) for a particular user? I understand that somehow I will have to
use the rad* files (radwtmp?), but do not know how to do it? Could you

Hi Randy,
Thanks for your help.
Setting "cleanup_delay" to "0" seems to have helped to alleviate the
problem, but it does not prevent it. The server tends to run longer before
crashing - we're into the minutes now rather than seconds - but the problem
is definitely still there.
I saw an email
if you'd provide a little detail as to what your looking for I'd be happy
to help you out.
"monthly reports" is kinda vague. What exact information are you looking for?
usage? data transfer? what kinda format you want it in?

Hi,
In radiusd.conf, try setting 'cleanup_delay' to 0 or even -1. It seems to
be related to some different segfaults I've been seeing. Mine have to do
with CHAP requests and SQL authentication.

Hi,
I have the exact same problem (almost same gdb trace running on Linux
too.
It seems that the proxy.c is giving problem. I setup two clients
(using radclient) to send the acct records to the radius daemon which
then proxied to another server. With 1 client everything is fine. Once

I'm currently testing freeradius-snapshot-20020114 (configured as a proxy

Ahh.. I made the changes to the radiusd.conf file that Randy suggested and
the failover works correctly now.
Thanks for the help. I assume the patch will be in 0.5? Any idea when that
will be coming out?
Thanks again for the help.

I'm not 100% sure how to get this, I tried getting todays snapshot and
compiling it, but I got errors.
I did find on the dev. list Randy Moore's patch that you said you commited:

Any number of reasons, which should be logged somewhere.
Hmm... nope. The code doesn't check for errors, and doesn't

Hi,
I just put it in the body of the email, rather than as a MIME attachment
because that is what the HOWTO on contributing patches suggests. I should
have said I 'included' it rather than 'attached' it.
You can download it from:

I had trouble with this until I installed the mysql-client and mysql-shared rpm's
Then I did a ./configure;make and make install again
You may also need the mysql-devel rpm (I did not test that - But I did have it
installed)

Hi ,
Sorry for my probably basic question but we have compiled freeradius04 with
success, it has finaly worked well in file/unix mode for auth and acc.
I had to force some ./configure params to install libs in a quite good place
(/usr/lib on RedHat) and therefore add the PATH in /etc/ld.so.conf.
Hello all
Just a quick question, I often get reports that users cant authenticate etc.
So to debug this problem I kill and restart radius with radiusd -X
Upon doing this I get a screens of two lines. I have copied them below:-

auth_type_fixup: Password [2]
