I use radius for my wlan auth but I also want it for lan but how? I use
pfsense with radius 2.x It works fine with wlan but how I use it for

Thanks

Hello,
if you are using PFsense 2 and captiv portal, go to your captiv portal
admininistration,
hit maj+ select LAN on Interface Field, this will have as result to add
an Interface to your captiv portal instead of replacing the one
available
Note, this is not really a freeradius Issue

you were given advice to check the network, or hire an expert to do

Hi,
If my guess is correct, a network expert with access to your radius
server, NAS, and networking elements (e.g. router, firewall) would
only need 30 minutes or so to solve your problem.
a network expert should be able to solve it in minutes... ;-)
I probably could but he wouldnt be able to

No, he means you should do proper authentication (username/password, not
mac). If your equipment doesn't support 802.1x set up a PPPoE server. Have
it do authentication before DHCP hands them an IP.

this is typically why you'd like to set up authentication, so the
physical access to your switch port is not sufficient to get access to
your network.
