Why don't you use a binary packet? I don't know which linux (?) distribution you are currently using ... but there are freeradius packages for most of them! For example, I am using Debian with an precompiled package, it works perfect! :-) Binary packets are compiled by people who really know what

  since you configured with --prefix=/usr/local/freeradius, everything will be under that directory.   so etc/raddb will be in /usr/local/freeradius/etc/raddb and so on...   if you're going to use --prefix - why not completely separate if from the system /usr and do a    --prefix=/opt/fre
