clients.conf works.
I´ve read the documentation in the file about how to add a client but when i
tired to add another client it stoped working.
I will try to explain how I have setup the

How many clients are in your clients.conf file? Is it just those two or
do you have any more? Are those the *first* two clients?
If you only have two clients, and its the two you listed there, try
putting the localhost (127.0.0.1) client declaration in first followed
by
localhost & 10.20.1.x
requests.
Could this be a bug in the 20050818 snapshot?

Try from a fresh CVS checkout, and don't change anything other than
the "clients". If it's still a problem, it might be the inet_pton()
functions on your system.

Try a fresh CVS checkout or tonight's CVS snapshot and see if this
corrects your problems. Looks like there was a byte ordering problem
when sanitizing the client entry based on the netmask. This would only
have affected people with little-endian machines.

there's a short name, print it, else print the full name or IP"

Is there any easy way to convert a freeradius clients file to a clients.conf
file? I have several dozen entries in my clients file and if I have to
convert this by hand it's going to be a lot of typing...

Because it opens up the server to more attacks. The RADIUS protocol
isn't secure enough to correctly enable ip/netmask for clients.

Is it possible to replace clients.conf with an SQL table? I assume that
is what the NAS table is for in the schema, but I have seen no mention
of it being used, or any documentation, for it on the web.
If it is possible could you please provide me with an example setup.

I'm running FR 2.0.3 and I just found that if there is more than one
client with the same IP address in clients.conf, then it will stop
processing the remainder of the file and continue startup. The only
indication it has done this are 2 error messages that are easily missed

I noticed that, even if I haven't the entry in clients.conf file for my

I think the easiest way is to configure the name
of the auth files into the clients.conf
NAS1 : file: users
NAS2 : file: users2, etc..
With this type of config, we can easily manage
multiple type of users/ auth with one radiusd

They're matched on the source IP address of the RADIUS packet.

use a VPN between the 2 systems - then you can simply use the VPN tunnel
addresses for each system to talk to each other - securely!

Hostname lookups are only done at FR startup, so as soon as the ip changes
you have a problem :-)
Use the Nas identifier attribute.
