Dario is working on integrating FreeSBIE in the FreeBSD Tree, as a
Google Summer of Code Project.

cause anything. I don't know if it's related, but you can try
disabling ATAPI DMA, but, if you do, expect a slower boot-time (I
don't know how much slower..).

mdconfig -a -t malloc -o compress , reserve -s ${etcsize}
with
mdconfig -a -t malloc -o compress -o reserve -s ${etcsize}
and so on.
To say more, I don't think you have to modify files in the scripts/
directory.
