I'm at the very beginning with FreeSurfer. I found it when I was
looking for software for brain segmentation and volume evaluation.
I'm reading the tutorial and I tried to run a couple of patients.
Someone told me that Freesurfer has not to do with volume based

1. Yes, you can certainly do volume-based morphometry with FreeSurfer.
2. Neuroquant is a commercialization of one relatively small piece of
FreeSurfer. None of the current developers of FreeSurfer have any financial
interest in NeuroQuant
