You shouldn't do that. Maybe we should add a warning or so in the

What is the closest kazaa equivelent program for

Hi,
I have a problem with newest Freevo (1.3.4). When I start it from
console, my screen goes Power off and TV's picture becomes disordered. I
have Radeon 7000 and I am using vesa fbdev. My Freevo.conf looks like
this:
cdparanoia = /usr/bin/cdparanoia
chanlist = us-cable
display = fbdev:vidix
Hi,
ok to mount the smb share manually is one solution but i was thinking
of somekind of automated search. As it is possible with the network

You just select whole network or current workgroup and freevo will
search for all computers /workgroups which are
Thanks Aubin, that checks out fine.
ldd /usr/lib/libSDL-1.2.so.0
libdirectfb-0.9.so.19 =/usr/lib/libdirectfb-0.9.so.19 (0x40088000)
So, sum up, mplayer works stand alone and DirectFB is buuilt against sdl correctly.
At the same time Freevo is not even calling DirectFB hence no DirectFB

Hello Mark,
Hi,
I experienced similar problems. I migrated from SuSE to Gentoo this week.
nice to know I'm not the only one :).
To get it working you applied the following patch, didn't you?

in it? I used the gxine mediamarks, but most of the urls are not
working and I want more information of the stream. So everone: please
send me (or the list) _good_ urls (stuff you listen to) and descibe
them:

The sdl patch is no longer needeed.
Use the cvs version of sdl (http://www.libsdl.org/cvs/SDL-1.2.tar.gz) and
things should go better

Hi, I have almost every function of freevo working, and decided to work on
my TV tuner card. Once I installed it and insmod'ed the modules, the audio
is always on, whether or not I am watching TV. Any ideas? I have a

It has more to do with mplayer; but recent (CVS of the main branch)
have much improved RealAudio streaming, and when coupled with the
live.com rtsp support, it's pretty decent overall.
MMS has always been supported, as has HTTP so I think it's pretty much
covered.

I would recommend:
Mostly Classical
Classical Music

Xine works only somewhat; Mplayer follows the embedded IPs in the pls
file (which is important since mostlyclassical changes often enough to
make it annoying to hardcode the IPs)
Xine only
If you put directfb in your freevo.conf, it's an error since Freevo
doesn't know about directfb, just about dfbmga, hence the
message you're getting.

Anyway to get Freevo to list everything in the movies directory by
filename, instead of description? I was looking around for it but
couldn't find anything. It listed it the other way in 1.3.2 I believe.
