Thanks Aubin, that checks out fine. ldd /usr/lib/libSDL-1.2.so.0 libdirectfb-0.9.so.19 =/usr/lib/libdirectfb-0.9.so.19 (0x40088000) So, sum up, mplayer works stand alone and DirectFB is buuilt against sdl correctly. At the same time Freevo is not even calling DirectFB hence no DirectFB
