Well I'm not sure why, but this workaround solves the problem for me:
echo 0 > /proc/sys/dev/cdrom/check_media
after that, mminfo /dev/hdc works just fine.

I switched out Caspture cards and now instead of /dev/video I'm /dev/video0 So, I went into the local_config.py and uncommented out the TV_VIDEOSOURCE or what ever it is. Watch TV now works but when record shows it is pulling the old setting.

problem since I updated to the latest rc3 release. When ever I try to
