I'm running 1.4.1 (still) with directfb. I know that when I recompiled
SDL with directFB support I had to move the SDL stuff from the runtime
directory out and copy or link the built one in its place. I don't know
if you have the runtime installed or not (I'm not even sure there is a
runtime for 1.
I was looking at mplayer.py.
Am I correct in assuming you can't currently use btaudio for audio while
watching tv?

Nevermind. Did it myself... ugly, weird way.
I saw Python for the first time today and _reading_ that is easy :)
Anyway, if anyone is interested I modified freevo_config.py:
at line 1031, 1032
if CONF.display == 'x11':
MPLAYER_VO_DEV = 'vesa' # originally was 'xv,sdl,x11,'

Hi!
Im using Freevo with my Nvidia Card. X is configured in a way that CRT
and TV-Out are different X display (:0.0 and :0.1). This works really
great, but:
I usually start Freevo in fullscreen mode on :0.1 (TV-Out). Nice, but it
grabs my pointer :-(
(If I dont start in fullscreen, it grabs my poin
Help! I still cant get my G400 to work via directfb. Directfb works with mplayer. I
recompiled SDL with directfb support. These are my configs:
Kernel 2.6.7 Mandrake 10
freevo-1.5-rc4
pygame-1.6
SDL-1.2.7
SDL_image-1.2.7
SDL_mixer-1.2.4
SDL_ttf-2.0.6
smpeg-0.4.4
MPlayer-1.0pre5
Did:
export SDL
Getting there, but still not working. I turned on -trace and now the problem
has to do with the fact that Freevo is adding extra verbage to the command
string that is not recognized by the version of mplayer I'm using (
1.0pre5-3.3.4). I'm seeing this command in the -trace output:
app=/usr/local/
Hi.
First of all, thanks to devs for this piece of software. Am almost there
but...
I made my first install of Linux beside dedicated servers (which is s
much easier) and after struggling with all kinds of new hardware I came to
the point when everything seems to be working, even freevo is
Funny.. I had just exactly the same idea.. that would be really cool..

I'm having problems accessing DVD's from freevo. Both my cd and my dvd
drive is visibl ewhen they are empty, or when they have music discs in
them. Both can access music disks. But when I insert a DVD it won't show
up. The dvd is properly mounted and accessible from otherwise. I can

Thanks for the info. Hm... Is this something that is worth doing?
Is anyone else interested in this feature?
And yes, one of these days I'll upgrade. Right now it's working fine
and my free time is very limited, so I'm reluctant to touch anything.
I'm currently using an nVidia card, but
I think this might be possible in the next release with some of the code
changes being implemented. Whether or not someone does it is a different
question. However I'm not sure I'd do it the way you suggest. A lot of set
top boxes display their guides with a default channel playing (local news in
