Actually, I found that I wasn't restarting the recordserver after each edit
of the config file. Once I started doing this Freevo seemed to work
correctly.
Also, to respond to the PRE and POST options:
I could change the command and use the VCR_PRE_CMD and POST options, but
then I have to resta

it does not like the environment freevo 1.5.3 provides for it when
