After I installed Freevo 1.7 on Fedora Core 6 I got the same
getScheduledRecordings (111, Connection Refused) error. I changed the
RecordServer IP in local_conf.py from 'localhost' to '127.0.0.1', and that
fixed it. Recordserver back up and running.

Since some time I'am the prowd owner of an Hauppauge Nova-S-Plus DVB-S
but instead of using it's internal remote I'am still using my home-brew
serial one.
Since the linux-dvb drivers also contain the remote drivers wich are
available in /dev/input/event* it would be a waste not to use
