This is getting close. That modeline does put my LCD
Also you should set your resolution in X to either 1280x720 or what
ever 1080i is depending on what you want to run your freevo at. This
may not be necessary but it will stop your tv from having to upscale
everything you are displaying.

Your new TV should have either a dvi (hdmi) or vga input if you use
those (and your video card can handle it) you can run at any
resolution (I'm using 1280x720). But I have the same problem as you,
freevo is streched I was able to fix mplayer with -monitoraspect
16:9 and xine with -pfhq. The

Probably you are missing the following kernel option:
Device Drivers-
Char Devices-
Enhanced Real Time Clock Support
I know a lot of distributions (Debian for example) get very upset if you
don't build that into the kernel (or as a module).

I tried a more expensive NVIDIA card (FX5600) and I still get the problem,
I'd love to move away from NVIDIA but my ATI (9800XT) does the exact same
thing, I could move to Matrox but as I understand it Matrox cards don't have
good X support. So the question becomes what video card works best?
Ok I have a problem with the output on my TV, the screen is wider at the

Currently using
GeForce2 cards do not support overscan in the driver, but you can use nvtv
to set overscan, simply run freevo, then from another shell type something
like nvtv -t -r 800,600 -S NTSC -s Large
Note you will have to install nvtv on your system and the string could be
different for you (-S PAL -s
