Hi!
I often have a situation where I fetch photos from my camera to my
freevo-box and would instantly like to take a look at them (browse or slide
show). This is a bit frustrating for the impatient (like me) since freevo
wants to create thumbnails of ALL the pictures in the new directory before I

I think the best way to do that is to use SMB for FUSE
(http://freshmeat.net/projects/fusesmb/). You can mount the whole
"network neighbourhood" as a normal user and sm
Hi!
I just installed Kaa & Freevo (rel-1 branch) from SVN and thought
I could share my experience as a small HowTo. As the subject implies
the target operating system is Ubuntu Hardy (still in beta). I know the
installation (check out & run python setup.py) is quite simple but the

Hi!
I'm trying to build kaa from source (python setup.py install) but I
can't find evas package for Ubuntu Hardy. Is it safe to leave out evas
and what consequences does it have for kaa/freevo? I've understood
it's a canvas library for X so does it make kaa/freevo ui work faster?

Have you tried SMB for Fuse? It runs in userland so it doesn't have
the problem of hanging itself and all processes accessing the share
when the remote box goes down.

There are also lot's of other interesting mounting options implemented
with Fuse
tched.

Hi!
I use a lot of network shares and I also have local directories that
have lots of files (music and/or video files). The directory scanning
takes very long for a directory with 10 mp3 files, too long for a
directory with 40 mp3 files and horribly long for a directory with 20
video files over a

Hi!
I'm installing freevo to a tablet pc which has no keyboard (only a
~12" touch screen). For that I would need a freevo skin with some kind
of "Back" buttons in every menu and player. Is there one yet? If not,
would it be hard to modify an existing skin to have back buttons?

Hi!
Has anyone tried installing freevo 1.7.4 to Ubuntu Gutsy using the
1.7.3 dependency packages. I mean first installing 1.7.3 using apt and
then just downloading 1.7.4 release, unpacking and running from the
source dir?
Is it even possible? I remember doing this successfully in dapper with

Hi!
I use freevo 1.7.3 in ubuntu feisty to watch dvb via mplayer. I've
encountered a weird problem when using freevo with the -fs switch.
After starting mplayer once for dvb and exiting (ESC) it's not
possible to watch tv again in the same freevo session. "Play" on
channel menu just returns to fre
Hi!
Is there a forum dedicated to Freevo (devel/users)? Mailing lists are
getting a little bit old fashioned don't you think :) Forums also
serve as a good "incubator" for Wiki content as can be seen at
ubuntuforums. Many people like to post small howto's and tutorials
which can end up in the wiki
Hi!
Is it possible to map a single button in a remote control to start
watching TV? Maybe a config parameter that can be used in lircrc? If
not then which source file would be the place to start the hacking? :)
