Thank you.

Help? I upgraded to tv_grab_na_dd as recommended last time I got errors
with TV information.
Now I can't even start Freevo.
So I backed up the /usr/local/freevo directory and /etc/freevo and
installed the latest "lynx" version...
Still no joy. Please see the error below and let me know if it
All I get when pulling channel information is as follows. This was
working until 5/20/04. Did I have to sign up for something? Could my
subscription have run out?

You need to pay attention to the command to start mplayer for playing, not
recording... And look for the "-ao" parm. If it's not there, add one with the

Thanks Alex-
How are you controlling the audio then? Have you discovered an automated way
or is this a manual task? Is there an entry in Freevo's configs which allow
you to do this?
It seems that Freevo should set this correctly rather than telling it to
stop trying... Is this a common event? W

I assumed the /etc/freevo/freevo.conf location of mencoder was the one that was used.
Then I saw /usr/local/bin/mencoder in the logs I sent to you all. Sorry that I didn't
notice that before.
/usr/bin/mencoder is the ticket.
Now I have to figure out how to make non-silent movies :)

I am running the record server from inittab with the respawn option as root. Shows

I tried to apply the patch included in the documentation and Wiki, but there is no

Hi Dirk-
I missed the announcement for this and have been struggling with the things
listed in a previous post. Since I have not heard back on many of them,
I'll try 1.4.1 and get back to you.

Dirk Meyer submitted a replacement "dvdinfo.py" and asked for input. I have seen no
response to this so here is mine:

Could someone update the Version information for the automated installer? It's been
out for 3 weeks and is still saying 1.4rc4.
Thanks!

Hello-
I recently turned my "rough media pc" into a more "Refined Media Center"
with the help of Freevo.
Freevo's lynx-install worked great and with the exception of "us-cable"
being detected instead of "us-bcast" we were good to go. Xine and MPlayer
were already installed so video-playing, audio
