Video works fine for me through VNC on a 100mbps network. You need to
export the root window of the linux box. Just following the directions
at http://www.realvnc.com/v4/x0.html. I use my laptop and VNC all the
time to control Freevo.

Did you copy the line out of local_conf.py file and paste it into this
email? Because if you did your entry is misspelled.
VIDEO_PREFERED_PLAYER = 'mplayer'

I know this doesn't make sense since you active the plugin using fxmms, but
use:
AUDIO_PREFERED_PLAYER = 'xmms'
instead of 'fxmms'.

It does work, I was the one who was brain dead. When I was doing some
troubleshooting, I changed my startup script to run in trace mode. When I
realized it (after pulling a lot of hair out :-) and remove the -trace
command everything worked great.

Subject: Re: [Freevo-users] Webradio, what am I missing?
When I run the following command from a shell it
works fine:
mplayer -ao alsa -playlist
mms://asx.abacast.com/wxrv.asx
But when I put what I think is the same command
into the webradio.fxd file it doesn't work. This is my entry in the fxd file.
-playlist
Your question makes no sense. Do you mean Freevo and not Tivo? Freevo is
just a front end for the video app. You can use your favorite video app for
watching movies and just about all the popular ones have no problems
supporting today's most popular codecs such as Divx.
