If I go down in the guide by using the PAGE_DOWN-Key (v on the keybord)
and then go further down by using the DOWN-Key (- on the keyboard)

I agree, it really seems to load the entire guide everytime you move
around in the TVGuide. I wonder, if it would be better to load the
guide just once when the user enters the TVGuide?
Do you see any problems with this approach?

Thank you very much Tanja! I've applied your patch and the TV guide is much
faster now. However, it's still not as responsive as the rest of freevo. If
you can squeeze another couple if milliseconds out of it, it would be great.

It seems like it loads the entire guide (all channels, days, times) which is
probably the reason why it's slow. If there is anyway to get that to load
only the current times being shown, might help but I am by far an expert.
Leaving and Entering the guide from watching TV is kind of slow also but
