It's a hard disk enclosure with FireWire and USB interfaces. There is no
hard disk included, you must provide one. Since the enclosure is really
small and designed for portability, it will only work
Thought you guys might want to know- I downloaded iPhoto and now my PC
Card Smartmedia reader mounts as a disk on the desktop in OS X and
iPhoto imports the photos beautifully. (iPhoto runs fine, even though my
Wallstreet is under spec) I suppose iPhoto must have drivers included
which allow it

Just for everyone's information, I got the drive from CompGeeks today,
unpacked it, hooked it up, and it showed up fine as a PC drive. Then I
reformatted it as a Mac HFS+ with two partitions. Works great.
In case any are interested, here's the URL:
Yes, the same manufacturer (NewMotion) makes a 3.5 enclosure, and it works fine,
too. I have both! Got 'em both from Computergeeks.com.

I tried to backup my System Folder on my Pismo but ran into some problems.

Start the PB up with a system CD. Then you'll have access to all the items in
the System folder.

Thanks guys. What I'm hearing is that I can boot my Pismo from the System
CD, look in the Chooser and see my Cube and mount its Hard Drive which
should appear on my Pismo's desktop. Then copy the System Folder on my
Pismo's hard drive to the Cube's hard drive. Let me know if I have missed

Having observed the conversation about system file backups, I was
wondering if I could boot from my install CD, access my 7500 as a
server, and then run TechTool Pro on the 7500 to defragment my iBooks
hard drive with no ill effects.
I tried to make a boot CD to accomplish the same thing.

Playing a DVD in my Ti-400 is an iffy, kludgy operation. Any touching of
the controls can result in a system freeze, and there are hiccups for no
reason once in awhile as well. Any ideas (9.1, 512 meg RAM.)
Thanks

Dear Listessas, Listas -
How hard would it be to replace the DVD drive in a PB G4 500 with
the ones now standard (?) in the 'new' Ti 550 and 667 ? I have
replaced HD, RAM etc. in different PB's and I heard that there are
really only two (?) manufacturers for the 'new' Combo drives.
How much
