Thanks for all the suggestions -- I found the solution on the QPS website. When in doubt, reset. In this case that means, shutting whole system down, powering off the burner, unplugging firewire at both ends, waiting at least 15 seconds, plugging everything back in, powering on burner, then booting

Vicki, The graphite ABS cannot be used as a bridge. The ethernet port on the station is designed only as an uplink to your DSL/Cable modem. New versions of the ABS -- "Snow" and "Extreme" -- have a dedicated WAN port that allows bridging. Having said that, there's several inexpensive alternativ

My mom just upgraded her Pismo from 10.2.8 to 10.3.8. Now she is not getting her desktop: all she can get is a generic screen with a Dock at the bottom. She can only open the apps that are in the Dock; if she opens one she can get the apple at the upper left and things that are under there; but

I just went through a wireless gateway last night, and though it's not the same situation, I found that adding in the MAC connection address to have access through the wireless gateway helped. Maybe you need to add the desktop's connection address directly as an "allow access" setting somewher

they arent working... when the dsl modem turns off, the airport says no connection detected. turned on, it shows it's connected, but gets stuck on "getting status" and never actually allows web browsing on the lap top. Any ideas? Phone company doesn't know. Andrea -- G-Books is sponsored by
