My son's Wallstreet won't boot (at all, at all). When I plug it in the little green light lights and I can hear what I have to think is the HD spinning, but nothing else happens. Thats the fan spinning up. This seems to happen if your PRAM battery is dead. Do you get a boot chime ? Mad Dog

How important is the pram battery in the Wallstreet? At $45 shipped and involved installation, how much difference would it make for a unit with a so-so battery that's usually plugged in? A wallstreet should still function with a dead PRAM. If you want to keep the date and time correct you

I was trying to do this the other night for a friend who has a LaCie drive. We were using the version of LaCie software from Versiontracker. Is this different than the stuff on the cd? It wouldn't let us format for both his XP machine and his Powerbook? Has anybody successfully
