I ordered
from Other World Computing absolutely would not boot. After a lot of trouble
shooting, OWC determined the drive was not compatible with my 'Book.
Swapped it for an IBM Travelstar, and never looked back.

Did you try zapping PRAM first? Hold down option-command-"p"-"r" and let it
chime 2 or 3 times before releasing the keys.

I have been looking at trading up from a PDQ (300) to a Pismo.
The only thing that slows me down here are the stories of "pink screen"
syndrome on the Pismo form factor. Let's assume I buy a Pismo and it
develops "pink screen." Is this something that you notice for only a dew
