Pismo won't boot

I have a G3/500 w/ 12 GB hard drive and 256 MB of RAM running 9.2.2. I have a new Lacie 160 GB Firewire hard drive for backups and digital files. What should I buy to accomplish a satisfactory upgrade to OS 10.3? And how much should I budget for RAM, new hard drive and program? cwr -- G-Books
