I haven't disassembled one of those Zips, but a similar successful experiment one guy tried was ripping out the floppy innards from a 5300 floppy drive and putting a HD in it. Holy cow! you have to be kidding! Wow, wish I had thought of that when I had a 5300. Could have saved me a bundle in
