Well thanks for all the info. I knew about editing with QTPro but it seems
you can only edit quicktime movies with it. I had a bunch of *.MPGs so this
wouldn't work. As far as I knew mpgs were quicktime movies but QT movies
have the extension *.mov. Sorry
Exporting to a DV Stream is a feature of QT 6 Pro.

How do you export to DV? Is this a feature of Pro or something else? I

You do need the pro version or a copy of Movie Player 2.5 to do this.
Note, the 2.5 movie player also supports all the new codecs when a newer
version of Quicktime is installed.

Yeah I only have had luck with converting and I have had mixed results with
audio quality. My safest bet has always been exporting to DV then editing
with iMovie but this is just too time consuming for two dozen or so clips.

Seth,
If I understand your question right, just get all your movie files on
your desktop, then open the one you want to open up with. We'll call
this Movie A. Movie A will then pop up in your QT Player. Play the movie
to its end or move your little playback head to the end of the movie.
