Howdy: I just did this. I replaced the CD/DVD drive in my Pismo (10.2.8... soon to be 10.3) with a new LG GCC-4240 combo DVD read, CDRW drive. Great drive. Fast and works great with burning (you can get files off of xlr8yourmac.com so that you can burn from iTunes in both OS 9 and 10). The

Nah, it just means you are using some fairly new CD-R media. My Lombard does the same thing, but only with more recently produced media, along with my 8600. If you take a look at the newer media, it is translucent when looked at from the data side. That combined with the cheaper dyes being

Hello, Everytime I insert an audio CD into my Pismo CD drive, the drive begins to rev really high (sounds like a jet airplane). The drive still seems to work fine and the revving lasts only temporarily, but the noise is surely something wrong and unnatural. Is this spelling the end? Any
