I got mine apart also when the VST drive went bad and I wanted to replace
the drive, but unfortunately the problem was with the drive case and I had
to put the drive in another enclosure to use it. I just mentioned it before
because it was a pain to get it apart and it looked like it had been run

Actually I've already done that with the drive I already have. My
partner's Fujitsu laptop was fried by a power surge and he was crushed
by the loss of data. His motherboard was a real mess. I jerked the
drive out and took apart the vst drive and put the Ibm formated drive in
its plac
Good luck getting into and putting the VST drive back to together as they
use some kind of shrink wrap around the drives and they are a real pain to
deal with.
