I've installed one of the Matshita combo drives below (UJDA740) in my
Pismo
running OS9
(1) The OS9.2 built in disc burner software will not recognize this.

I HATE the way Apple does this. ATAPI is standardized so that no
special driver files are required. Apple only blesses certain models,
and we have to live with the consequences whenever we upgrade.
(2) How do I tell whet
