Thanks to all who responded to my queries about upgrading my beige 233 G3. I've already upped the memory and I'll decide soon on either a G3 or G4 ZIF upgrade. I'm still experimenting with USB cards; one that was rated for both V1.1 and V2 caused an extension clash at start up so I'm using a 1.

The Rage 128 with DVD decoder module was the OEM card for the B&W G3s and PCI (Yikes) G4s that shipped with DVD-ROM drives. I've never heard of problems caused by having them attached and I thought I'd read that the decoder actually works with newer OS X releases (assuming you have an app that

I don't know if this is still a problem, but with the 10.1 installer, it wouldn't work with two cards in place that use the same drivers. Pull one or the other of your ATI cards out and try the install. The one you keep should be in the 66 MHz slot. If you're really committed to having them bot

Yes the Rage128 is compatible, not sure why its doing this, I would suspect the DVD decoder add-on and would try removing it from the Rage128 card, OS X does all DVD decoding in software and does not like hardware decoders. Everything else looks fine on your system. David On Wednesday, January

I has this happen recently on a 10.2 install on a 30GB drive. What I ended up doing was running installer from CD, partition drive (6GB & 24GB), quit installer, restart, it works! It seems that the installer was not picking up the new partition. Hope this helps. Drew At 02:14 PM 1/8/03 -0600,
