I guess I should have said I bought the chip less than a year ago. It's only been over the past month that I've noticed my computer slowing down. It takes longer to load all the ads on websites too. The ads are annoying enough without having to wait even longer for them to load. I upgraded to this

I seem to remember something about the power management chip getting itself into a high current mode which drains the battery. Can't really remember. Can you check for a good voltage on the battery you have? Find out if it has been discharged. I would try removing the power cord AND the battery

I wasn't offered iTunes 9 on my G3 iBook. A quick check of System Requirements shows no G3 support. Some are saying iTunes 9 runs on the G3, but slowly. I haven't tried iTunes 9 on a G3. It appears iTunes 8.2.1 is the final G3 version. Someone needs to catalog the final versions of G3 softwar
