When I try to properly shut down or restart my G4 Quicksilver OS 10.5.8, the icons leave the screen (the screensaver image - is that what you call it? - remains) and the beach ball spins forever. I can shut it down with the power button and bring it back up. I zapped the PRAM. I've repaired

That's a good idea, however it the receiving platform doesn't have a open disk that the disk image can be installed on then it's a wast of time. Or unless the receiving platform's disk can be split into two disk it would work. The "Disk Image" can not be installed onto the active disk. Cheers Har
