The update to 9.2 will not work on a system with an upgrade card,
this requires an iMac or an other PPC 750 p
With the 5400/180s AND the 5500s ANY of the 4-slot-USB-cards I tried out caused
troubles.
On the other hand, any of the 2-slot works fine (about 10 $ U.S.).
You can add a hub then - makes sense anyway, because the slots are on the back.
These computers are limited to USB 1.1, AFAIK.

Just the other way 'round; updating to 9 or 9.1 slowed down (603e/ev) machines
VERY significantly.
I recommend a 8.6 if you don't use iTunes or other apps requiring 9.
OSX is slower (if it runs) on them enyway. With an iMac CRT/350MHz it's ...
undescribable, unendurable.

There is a way to double the tracks, moving the copies in a new folder
(preferably on the desktop). Then prefix them with numbers -
starting with "01", not with a "1", the next track would be "11" then.

IMO the GraphicConverter is one of the best apps ever (I use it since a version
1.7.6 appeared in ~1994).
With 5.9.3 it got so many functions, it is nearly as useful as Photoshop.
It is loaded much faster and: look at the pricing.
A Version 6.something is also available for a few dollars.

A good way of write protecting is burning the entire content to CDs or DVDs and
lock them away.
Then you can sweep the disk by re-formatting.

If you have an IDE to USB adapter and enough of space on a Mac,
the data should be safe until you Mac-formatted the Win disk.
Then you reload them.
Depending of the amount of data and the size and speed,
this may take quite a while.

I loaded it today and cannot say anything about it,
other than it seems not faster than Neo, and since 'Office' is the only
acceptable Microsoft product I have to admit that '98 and 2001 run reliable on
the older Macs, whereas 2001 crashes in the 'Classic'
There's a big difference between an iMac G3/350 and a b&w G3/350 -
and there are beige G3 models as well (not so fast if not upgraded)
