Make sure you're running the latest version of g4u for the dc7900. I
have had no problems with dc7900's since going to a recent version.
Thanks

I've had problems with BC nics on g4u 2.3 also. Using 2.4 alpha worked fine -
try that. Don't know if that will fix the RAID issue or not.

Using g4u 2.4alpha3, the onboard Intel nic is not recognized. ifconfig

appropriate line from dmesg is:

I agree - drive geometries are no longer much of an issue, I assume (as Andre
Tertling said) because of LBA. I create my images on 10GB drives and have
cloned (uploaddisk/slurpdisk) them to drives as large as 250GB with no
problems.
I have seen issues with cloning only NTFS partition(s) and
I just checked the UBCD web site, and it lists an old version (2.1) of g4u. If
you're running on newer hardware then you may need a newer version of g4u than
that. Try the latest version from Hubert's site instead of using UBCD and see
if that works any better.

I've also noticed that some different computer manufacturers will read the same
disk differently. For instance, a Compaq/HP image will not work on a Dell or
vice versa. In this instance the system will simply sit with a flashing cursor
when you try to boot from the image. This issue is with t
FYI for anyone using g4u on HP Compaq dc-series machines:
Just tested g4u on a new dc7700. The 7700 changes from an integrated
Broadcom nic to Intel, but there is no support in g4u for the integrated
nic. On the dc7600, g4u would hang unless you disabled the on-board
Broadcom nic, but it does

g4u 2.2 beta 2 has a
problem with the Broadcom network card in the latest HP dc7600 computers running
Pentium 4 HT processors. g4u sees the network card and tries to load the
driver and immediately dies. I verified that it is the network card by
disabling it in the bios and using a slightl
I had a similar issue with some HP dc7600
machines. In the BIOS, I changed the SATA controller settings to emulate a
single combined controller rather than individual controllers and that fixed
the problem. Don’t know if that’s an option or even related to
your issue – I’m not familiar wi
I have had the same problem with some
Compaq/HP workstations in the past. I was fortunate enough to have PS2
keyboard ports on those systems so I didn’t follow up.
