I think that the stable version of the repository is much better suited for
that.
The trunk version is much intended for development.
Try with
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gambas-team/gambas3
It contains the last stable version of gambas. Use it for your development
and install it on client's

this I have tested it on Kubuntu, 8.04 - 8.10 - 9.04 - 9.10 versions (on
10.4 that I failed to recognize the usb virtualbox).
The project is a simple form, which I believe a version of Gambas 2.20
on Kubuntu

shared libraries.
Far only tested on Ubuntu from 9.10 to 8.04, version 6.06 does not work
by having a GLIC less than 2.7.
Well, now to keep trying with other Distro.

did you try
in fact the idea will be to make a Gambas apps self planet.
Each application have a list of needed libs, and versions of it.
if one app have a more recent lib it replace the older and if not exist, add it.
if a lib is not used anymore by all the installed apps it is removed
