Hi Bryan,
Yeah, the Alpha released by Alchemy was a bit of a mess. There were a
number of bugs including the very annoying one where you couldn't climb
ladders or descend one all the time. If that had been all I would have
fixed them, and happily went on my way.
Unfortunately, the level editor

Hi Shaun,
It is possible, but I've pretty much decided at this point to begin
working towards finalising the engine for 1.0 release. Basically,
placing a freeze on non-esentual changes so I might work on necessary
work like new levels and the product registration system.

Hi Charles,
I'll have those different catagories anyway since I am considering
licensing the BSC score posting library for my games. Though, as I
recall that usually allows you to have up to three score boards per game.

Hi Yohandy,
I am not setup quite yet for taking orders, but hopefully very soon. I
need to get my databases all setup for storing the purchase tracking,
who has what key, and I need to get the product key system in the game.
I also need to incorperate my php scripts for the online shopping cart,

Hi Dark and all,
Actually, the solution I introduced into Beta 4 was a bit simpler than
the one being tossed about on list. Let me explain how I think
difficulty should work.
In the clasic Montezuma's Revenge, like allot of other games of the era,

Unfortunately, it is a little late for leaving things as they are in

I felt the end user's wanted, and it would be a bit of a painful

Hi Trenton,
What a great idea. There are things in my version of Monty that won't
exactly match up with those walkthroughs, but they should generally
apply in some ways.

Hi Charles,
It is possible. It just depends on how well the game does during 1.0,
and if there is much to add for a 2.0 release.
Obviously, I won't abandon the game if there are upgrades neccessary for
Windows upgrades, but I don't see those updates requiring hours of work
or much developmental
Hi Trenton,
That is a good point. For the moment killing snakes is a probationary
feature nothing more. We will see if it is generally exceptable, and
beta 5 will be the final decision either way.

Hi Phil,
I will assume by the tone of your message you are making a joke.
However, the kinds of suggestions found in your post are exactly those
kinds of suggestions I am facing that would alter the game beyond
originality.
For example, collecting several swords is kind of like grabbing ammo

Hi Charles,
No garentees about it appearing in Beta 4. I will consider it, and
seeing as I do want the game to retain some originality it may
eventually make it into the unstable source branch. However,I have lots
of choices to make, and I can't please everyone here no matter what I
decide.

Hi Shaun,
Well, for the moment Beta 4 will allow you to kill all monsters. That
feature will probably stay since I have become interested in it myself.
As for a jump warning I personally don't think so. it would make the
game too easy in my opinion, and it would lose even more of it's
diminished
Where is the challenge with a tone then?
I mean, the way it currently is requires practice and good listening. I
don't want the game made to be so easy that it quickly loses its replay
value.

Hi Raul,
This isn't really a question of possability. I could certainly modify
the game to do different actions based on difficulty. The problem is how
much time do gamers want me to spend delaying the release just to tinker
around with adjusting this stuff when I have several levels to script,
Hi Charles,
Well, my greatest worry here is altering the game so much it both loses
its challenge, and alters it so much it is no longer Montezuma's

as well be thinking up a new game, because in many ways it is truly

HiDark,
I am definitely going to try and keep the challenge up in the game. One
way of doing this will be by increasing the hit point damage the enemy

Hi Davy,
Well, as to the sand floors it would be a major pain to put back into
