Thank you very much for letting me know that many of the sapi5 voices do work
with my games in Windows 7 and that it only seems to be a problem with the
ScanSoft voices and that might even just be on your computer. It is good to
hear that the sapi5 voices do still work ok.

No, I just used the standard yes/no prompt until Crystal came up and
asked me if I wanted to use that voice. It crashes only when it tries
to use Scansoft Tom, Daniel, Karen, or some of the other Real Speak
Solo voices that comes with Openbook 8 or Jaws 9. As I said those
voices were true S

That is cool that you have gotten my games set to use AT&T Crystal. May I ask,
did you do that by setting Crystal as your computer's default voice?

Actually, Windows 7 comes with Sapi 5.4. Sapi 5.4 is technically
backward compatible with Sapi 5.1 as it is basically just a newer
version of the Sapi 5 library. Anna, though, was specifically compiled
using Sapi 5.3 or later so won't run on XP.
As for the AT&T voices those work fine on Win

Yeah, I don't know. I hear that Windows 7 comes with sapi 5.3 Anna and my games
were developed for sapi 5.1. It is good that my games can use at least sapi 5.3

I really don't know. Although, i should revise my statement somewhat.
Jim's games work more less fine on Windows 7, the 32bit versions, but
I have had a few issues such as crashing when selecting a different
Sapi voice. If I use something like Microsoft Anna no problem. If I

since the games work fine on the 32bit version of windows7 I wonder why they're
not working on the 64bit version? I also read on several forums that microsoft
virtual pc is really a very slow bad sluggish virtual machine software anyway
and also on the forums they recommend using vmwa
