Kool! I did just that, but another additional thing (when wiping out the RRD
didnt help at all):
additional lines in gmond.conf for cluster-B
trusted_hosts = IP Address of gmetad
all_trusted = on

Cluster-H - 10.1.0.33-45
Cluster-B - 10.1.1.33-35
gmetad - 10.1.1.41
I made that change only for Cluster-B gmond.conf files. No changes went to
Cluster-H.

I've just discovered a small glitch in the release of 3.1.7
The tarball on Sourceforge appears to have been the same as the tarball
on ganglia.info/testing, but compressed a second time (i.e. a nested gzip).
I've now replaced it with the correct tarball.
