30 straight running plays worked. He played to his team's strengths and his
opponent's weakness. That is how you win. You don't want to win?
That's not brilliance, that's no secret formula, that is common sense...

Thanks for the thorough analysis, Scott. I don't buy your assessment of

We've already got a Mullen and his name is Meyer/Adazzio. I personally don't

Stacey and others,
I know right now that there is a growing envy of Mullen. However, it may
well be that Meyer compliments Mullen in a way that Mullen cannot do for
himself. According to several articles on Mullen and Meyer that I have read
lately, Mullen has a somewhat abrasive personality.
Many more games like this, and even *I* might become a baseball fan. L

Scott, were you a fly on the wall at our Gator viewing party up here in

I don't. I just happened to see it while having lunch at the sports bar.

As much as it pains me to admit it, I have to agree with you, Scott. This team
should be way better than the crap we are seeing. The talent is there... the
coaching and play-calling are not.

I was disappointed with the poor effort against Alabama. I was totally

OK, this is probably the least of the Gators' problems, but it really bugged
me to see this formation repeatedly.
I assume that the reason for using it is that you teach the defense to
ignore Brantley and he slips wide open down the field, whereupon Trey Burton
throws him a touchdown pass. However
Maybe they need Steve Adazzio as a full-time O-line coach.

It brings to mind former Tampa Bay Buccaneer's coach John McKay's famous quips
during post-game meetings with reporters.
When asked, "Coach, what about your team's execution out there today?":
"I'd be in favor of it."
Even this one, asked after they had lost their first 26 games as a franchise:
The reason the Coaches have closed practice this year is because we
have an offense that is very offensive.
