Sam,
I too noticed this problem. I'm not sure of the reason other than the error
message.
You can get this done in two steps.
First use gdalwarp to change the image size to 256x256 using bilinear
resampling into a GTiff format image.
Then use gdal_translate it from GTiff to PNG.

I have issues generating pngs out of gdalwarper.

Hi,
Has EPSG changed again something with the Web Mercator projection?
The EPSG report about EPSG:3857 shows that it is using a flattened
WGS84 ellipsoid.
Hi,
I have upgraded from GDAL 1.6 (32bit Windows) to 1.7 (64 bit Windows)
and the following command no longer works:

Hi,
I am trying to write a program which is supposed to read geotif files, extract
the values I need, then export them in a homemade format.
As my geotif files are on several different UTM zones, I have to change
projections so that all the files I open have the same projection as the main
tile
Hi everyone,
I'm new to this list and would therefore like to say hello and thanks
for gdal in the first place :-)
I just came across a minor problem where I would like to ask for your advice -
the Global Landcover set GLC2000 is available in grid format from [0].

Hi Tamas,
I am trying to use AutoCreateWarpedVRT from C# and finding that the
reprojection is not warped. Could you confirm whether your patch has been
applied to gdal? I also couldn't find your C# example anywhere so assumed
that it hasn't been added in yet.
Thanks,
Marcus.

Thanks very much Chaitanya, that was indeed my problem.
I am using gdal_grid to create the image that I am filtering, and am setting
nodata=255 as a parameter on the interpolation algorithm. I had expected
that this would cause nodata areas to be written as 255, and that 255 would be
marked

Associated with it is the .hdr file with the projection description

Apparently the map units are in decimal degree.
When I ask gdalinfo, I get the WKT description of the SRS, see [3]

Hi All,
In our project we are using GDAL 1.7.2 to load map data in various formats

All it's working fine but we have a big problem with the CIB format.
For this type of datasets, the GDALOpen function fails with the following
