Hi guys, though I dont use it in my phelsuma tanks, I do use Nolvasan in my chameleon enclosures. I think it could be well argued that chams are WAY messier than most geckos, and I really like how clean it keeps their cages. No smell, and its recommended for animal husbrandry in general (like, on
Hi Julie/Scubadug,
I've heard of quatricide, and it is readily available.
I guess when dealing with really sick herps then you guys may be right that something stronger would be needed. However I have a full collection of healthies on my hand, and the hydrogen peroxide is working great with me. T

Hi all. Was wondering where people on this list are acquiring their CF bulbs? Ive got to replace some 96 watt bulbs, and AHSupply only carries those in the "quad" pin arrangement, not the linear pin arrangement. Ive done some searching, but would like to know who people are sourcing these from
Greg,
I think petrii are fairly similar to Stenodactylus sthenodactylus, which is
what I have. I set up a little incubator inside the adult tank and had good
success with that. Every week or so I would carefully go through the sand

Don't mean to be rude or anything, but the point Julie and the vets are
making is hydrogen peroxide does not "get the job done"! You've been
lucky that you weren't dealing with some nasties it won't kill. It is
probably fine for normal periodic cage cleaning with healthy animals

My guesses would be as Leann's about the vitamin supplement. Shakes are
usually hypocalcemia. What supplement are you using? It should not
matter with hatchlings that you use full-spectrum. Phelsuma need a

Right... now I remember you describing your

Hi Jared,
I have no problem at with compacts, I just haven't used them as
my cages are all in rows
on shelves, I chose to use tubes. Compacts we're fairly new when
my room was setup.
For Uros, you have to use D3, good UVB or both. Based on my own

Two questions:
What was the supplement schedule (vitamins, calcium and D3 - more details)?
Where you using a UV light and if so how old was the light?
My initial thoughts are that the calcium was inadequate for a growing
juvenile along with poor nutrition. What calcium they did get may have had

Niel,
You sound as is you don't like the idea of the
compact flourescents. May I ask why? I really like them myself,
and use them before conventional fluor. any time given a choice. They
have some pretty nice c.f. UV bulbs now with output aroun
Melody,
the acrylic will be screwed in place, so it shouldn't be able to warp... and
I doubt it will be able to convince 1/2" sheets of oak plywood framed with
2"x2"s to do so either. I'll keep an eye on it nevertheless.
Thanks,
Jared

OK, I tried sending this last night and I haven't seen it posted yet, so I'm trying again; apologies if it gets posted twice.
Recently I had two grandis hatchlings (~1.5-2mos old, I think) die within 2 days of each other. (They were "roommates".) They had previously been seemed very healthy, ate
