It's been some time since gerbv experienced any updates. To this end,
several months ago, Ales and I have agreed to help the original gerbv
developer, Stefan, shoulder the work of maintaining and developing the
program.
Several patches had accumulated for gerbv over the last 1 1/2 years.

last update of my Gentoo-Linux installed a new version of guile (version
1.8.2):
Rebuild of gEDA was necessary (detected by revdep-rebuild)
If I launch gschem now, I get this message:
Your Guile installation doesn't provide the regex module.
Before I rebuild guille and geda again with
Try flipping a pin horizontally with out it. On my box that terminates
gschem. I had to recompile guile with it a few days ago.

I have crashed PCB twice using file/export Gerber and then
adding /Gerber into the where_to window...other than that it works
great. The directory my_path/Gerber does exist. It is not a big
problem so keep it on the bottom of the list. Regards Ian.
