Hi Klaus I guess that this is not a situation that arises all that often, I didn't know if this was known about. At least for me it is not so bad and it will be a nice surprise when one day I find it fixed :-)

idea if this is what is really happening, only that this is what seems to happen in use. I don't recall these operations being so slow on GQview, any thoughts? My system is Ubuntu 9.04 on Athlon 2600 + 512MB RAM
