This is an interesting feature if we could have in gem5. Actually, we have
done the same work in enabling parallel/distributed simulation of a cluster
using gem5. Please refer to a recently published paper on this for more

I am definitely wanting to review the multi-gem5 patch, just having a hard
time setting aside a big enough chunk of time to get into it. I'm
definitely intrigued and looking forward to it. I'll try to get on it as

The tip commit needs to be revised to include a checkpoint upgrader. Until
this is committed, ARM checkpoints from any earlier revisions will not restore.
We would like to commit this ASAP so please have a quick look.
