I did the printable version. Everything printed fine until the
grub.conf listing.
What about rebuilding the kernel? Should I just go ahead and start
from where I left off and rebuild the kernel later? I can recompile my
kernel at any time, right?

An open-source book that tells how to build a Linux system completely
from source. Sounds cool. But isn't this pretty much Gentoo without
the community and Portage?
