Do I need a full 32-bit chroot to compile a 32-bit guest? Or can I just
pass a SUBARCH=x86 (or something like that) to compile it?

UML currently does not support 64bit guests.
You can use a 32bit guest however.

Has anyone managed to get User Mode Linux up and running? I'm running
linux-2.6.11-gentoo-r2 sources and am having some problems getting the
