This is the first error. This file should exist in /usr/include/X11/X.h.
I'm not 100% but I believe these are provided by x11-proto/xproto. Which
is an indirect dependency (through libXfo

I have a AMD64 box which I migrated to modular X yesterday.
I followed the instructions in
http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/desktop/x/x11/modular-x-howto.xml and the
last command is to run revdep-rebuild.
Actually everything went quite well and the system is running, but I do

Dear amd64 users,
Since gcc3.4.5 is released ( two weeks ), I cannot emerge it successfully.
I get the error message showed below.
I have even installed 2006.0 distribution from scratch, and after
emerge sync, I get the same error.
Is that known ? Do I miss something ?

What's the output of `zgrep CONFIG_IA32_EMULATION /proc/config.gz`? It has to be
enabled. You can enable it in the kernel menuconfig:
Executable file formats / Emulations --->
[*] IA32 Emulation
If enabling that, recompiling the kernel and rebooting doesn't help, please
provide the output o

Thank you (all) for quick reply.
Setting IA32 emulation in the kernel solved the problem.
But it surprise me quite a lot ...
I am using Gentoo on AMD64 boxes for 2 years already, and this is the
first
time that holds me from smooth update.
What if I wanted to run strict AMD64 executables only ?

You'd have to use the 2006.0/no-multilib profile.

I'm not really sure if this will help you but you might try and post the
output of this:
# cd /var/db/pkg
# for pkg in x11*/*; do equery k ="$pkg" 2>&1 | grep \! && echo "^^ $pkg";

Make sure that those packages from which the missing files are anything
but manual pages (or changed configuration files) are remerged.
Especially things from /usr/
