Unfortunately, doing everything step-by-step like is described on gentoo
forum in topic related to drm under FREE drivers - I have not DRM due to
missing libGL.so.1 --- when switching openGL to mesa-cvs..
when switching to xorg-x11 I have NOT drm

Yes I have. I use the DRM drivers in kernel 2.6.17,
not the separate ebuild which is recommended in the
HOWTO because it works and it's easier to update if
it's in kernel.
