I've had a ton of problems with the avifile ebuild, but the newest version (0.7.37.20030522) finally installed on my machine after various versions (including the one you're trying to install) failed. You might want to try #ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge avifile (Assuming you're using an x86 pro
