[gentoo-user] Resize root partition

Hi, I tested gentoo for a while now and decided to make it my primary os on my machine. Therefor I want to resize the root partition (reiserfs), since it's now only 5gb. Which is the savest way to perform this? I don't think Partitionmagic is a good idea. Mybe Knoppx with qtpart? Any

Hi all, this is not a gentoo specific question.. I hope anybody can give me an answer anyway :-) I hava a file boot.ftp, and in the manual of the software it says copy boot.ftp to /temp and unzip it to /temp Now, how can I unzip this file? Simply unzip boot.ftp won't work at all... Any

Hi all, I'm trying to use gaims (0.71) systray icon - if I click on the x, the window hides and I stay online. If I get a message, it pops up. But there is no icon in the systray of gnome 2.4 anywhere :( Any suggestions? I have to activate the plugin eacht time I start gaim. Otherways gaim

[gentoo-user] Gnome 2.4 - battstat applet shows battery status, but not weather ac is plugged or not

Hi again, I still have a gnome issue - on my laptop (toshiba s. 3000-214) I use acpi build as modules. The modules ac, battery are loaded on boot. The battstat applet (2.4.0) shows the correct battery status, but doesn't seem to recognize weather ac is pluged in or not. Any ides anybody?
