I tried to do the usual root (hd0,1) and setup (hd0), and everything goes
without a glitch, but then now I always go to the grub >.
What can I try next?

ync all my home
directory ('cause that's what I value the backup for) with only the diffs
since the last rsync.
This way I protect the data even from PC HW issues, and can carry it around in
case of need.

patches and the whole lot. Advantages of
being source base is obviuosly performance, but I also think it's that you
actually have SW available faster to you (as most project release in source).
Portage is what got me interested in gentoo. It basically allows you to manage
your SW install, and re

those things and I got nothing.
So I restarted the PC. Still nothing. Then I saw that maybe I needed to
re-emerge gnome-spell. Did that and still nothing. So I'm running out of
ideas.
What else can I do to try and fix this issue?

s to set (hd0,0)/kernel... that is to take out the /boot bit as
it seems that for me the paths are relative to /boot anyways.
Took me a while to figure that one out, so just my 2c.
